Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary is a relocation center for wild elephants at Lanchang, about 190km away from Kuala Lumpur with easy access via the Karak Highway. Established in 1989 by the Department of Wildlife and National Parks, the center is a popular tourist attraction that's free and open daily - though visitors are encouraged to follow a schedule that starts from noon to enjoy all the activities.
These include a video presentation, elephant show and bathing baby elephants in the river. Also within the premises is an elephant museum, interpretive center and herb garden. Lcated nearby (3km away) is Deerland Park, a mini zoo with lots of tame deer and some wild animals on display.
