Gohtong Jaya is a satellite town of Genting Highlands, located on a plateau 5km below the peak. In recent years, the area has seen a spree of development, resulting in new commercial districts and high-rise premium condominiums sprouting over the valley. Gohtong Jaya is also known as a food town, specialising in Chinese cuisine, street food and local fruits including 'Musang King' Durians.
The central portion of town is composed of shophouses lined on a linear path along the main road, occupied mostly by restaurants. Gohtong Jaya is also the gateway to the summit by cable car via Awana Skyway. Around the area, several tourist attractions lie in the immediate surroundings include Mini Cameron, Happy Bee Farm, Strawberry Farm, Premium Outlets and Gohtong Memorial Park.
